History, Background & Basic Facts

Dhampir - (Half human/half vampire)
Not much can be found about the first dhamphir leaving their history in mystery. Only facts and knowledge known is from those of the race willing to share what they know. ALTHOUGH most dhamphir's will say it takes a master vampire well over 600+ years and a human female to create this hybrid.

Characteristics: Dhamphir's can eat, sleep, breath, have a heart beat much like a human making it hard to know they aren't. Their eyes are usually also a normal color, although when extremely hungry or agitated they will change to be more blood red or black. Their skin is naturally warm to the touch and their fangs are usually kept hidden unless feeding or needed during a fight. Some dhamphirs with the help of magic are even able to lock away their vampire side so that is doesn't easily become released unless they wish it. Which can come in handy when they extremely weak and possible needing blood it helps control the urge. Keeping an accident from happening. I.E.The killing of a victim.

Abilities: Their senses are not as powerful/strong as a full-blood vampire, but they are quite stronger than humans. Can sustain a blood intake of about once a month to ease their vampire side enough but still eats normal human food regularly. The weaknesses known to full-bloods doesn't exist for dhamphirs, meaning the sun, the need to sleep within a coffin or in the dirt, garlic don't work on them. Making them just more easily able to blend in with humans and live unnoticed. Can have a life up to 500 years.

Weaknesses: Can die through most human ways, though it does take a little more to complete with their tougher skin. Regeneration from injuries isn't an instant heal like it can before most full-blood vampires:
-Bruises/minor cuts will take one full day
-Major cuts/broken bones take a full week
-Lose of a limb is permanent

Height/Weight: Varies but more close to basic humans
Eye color: Basic human - blood red/black only when thirsty or highly upset
Environment: Can live like basic humans to help blend in and keep up appearance. Has no need for coffins or to be buried in order to rest.
Diet: Human food regularly; blood once a month
Lifespan: Up to 500 years max
Breeding: Much like a humans; vampire mate becomes a little more tricky and risky though has alot to do with the vampire's age. The older they are the more successful the birth can be. ALTHOUGH only a female dhamphir and male vampire can have another dhamphir. A male dhamphir and either human female or vampire will have a 20% chance of their child being dhamphir. In rare cases a female dhamphir and male human can produce a dhamphir offspring.

Issues that can arise during the birth: baby possible draining the mother of her blood to feed; mother needing more blood than usual and preferring it over human food during the whole pregnancy or birth; mother becoming highly emotional more so than a human and this is either constantly crying or highly aggressive. In extremely rare cases the entire birth will be totally human although the baby once born is still part dhamphir.
